Have you ever heard a song, and it immediately speaks to your soul?
That is the way I felt when I first heard the song “Flowers” by Samantha Ebert.
It was one evening in February 2025, and I was stressed. I had just changed jobs, and I didn’t know what I was doing yet. I looked to the outside world for a sense of peace and security and was coming up short. However, when I heard these lines, it cut right through me:
So I brought it up in a desperate prayer
Lord, why are you keeping me here?
Then He said to me, "Child, I'm planting seeds
I'm a good God and I have a good plan
So trust that I'm holding a watering can
And someday you'll see that flowers grow in the valley"
I was filled with emotion… I knew right then and there I was not alone nor in the wrong place. I also had a vision for a new painting, but I didn’t have the skills yet to make that vision come through (or at least that is what I thought).
So, I practiced and painted more flowers. From photos and from life. I went to work and put in the time to learn what I needed.

I bought myself flowers after a stressful week was complete. I took some new classes too. But most important I learned to trust in God more and let go (just a little bit of my need for control).
So whatever the reason, I'm barely getting by
I'll trust it's a season knowing that you're by my side
Every step of the way
And I'll be okay
Two dozen floral paintings later it was time. The vision came together.
And I'll bring it up in a grateful prayer
Thank you, Jesus, for keeping me there
You know just what I need, and you've planted seeds
'Cause you're a good God with a real good plan
And you hold my world in a watering can
So I can have peace 'cause flowers grow in the valley
I am so “in love” with this painting and am honored to share it with you. I hope it can speak to you and heal your soul in the same way the song “Flowers” speaks to mine.
